KRASNODAR July 14 (Interfax) - Investigators have brought charges against Sergei Denisenko, suspected of killing Stanislav Rzhitsky, deputy head of the department for mobilization work of the Krasnodar administration, the Russian Investigative Committee press service said.
"Sergei Denisenko has been charged with premediated murder of former Krasnodar submarine commander Stanislav Rzhitsky, as well as illegal weapons turnover," the report said.
Yevgeny Pervyshov, a Russian State Duma deputy and former head of Krasnodar, reported Rzhitsky's murder on Monday. Investigative bodies of the Russian Investigative Committee opened a murder case. According to the Investigative Committee, Denisenko, the suspect, had a pistol with a suppressor when he was detained.
During the questioning, which was conducted by an investigator from the Investigative Committee's Investigative Directorate for the Krasnodar Territory, Denisenko has admitted his guilt.
Denisenko told reporters after the hearing he has not worked for the Ukrainian special services and is remorseful.
Krasnodar's Pervomaisky District Court has arrested Denisenko until September 10.
