MOSCOW. July 17 (Interfax) - The termination of the Black Sea grain deal involves revoking navigation safety guarantees, phasing out the maritime humanitarian corridor, and closing the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"In line with Clause H of the agreement, the Russian side objects to its further extension, which the Turkish and the Ukrainian sides were officially informed about and the UN Secretariat notified today," it said.
"This means revoking navigation safety guarantees, phasing out the maritime humanitarian corridor, reinstating temporarily dangerous area status in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, and dissolving the JCC in Istanbul," it said.
"Without Russia's participation, the Black Sea Initiative ceases to function starting July 18," it said.
"It is time for Kiev's European allies to display their declared solidarity, as they can transport Ukrainian food via land corridors," the ministry said.
"It is true, however, that cheap and low-quality grain coming in without any control might completely flood European markets and cause (already causing) protests of local farmers," it said.
"If this indeed worries Brussels, the EU members might well buy it up and start sending it to countries in need instead of speaking about combating hunger," it said.
