Drone tried to attack Balaklava thermal power plant on July 16 - Sevastopol governor

ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 17 (Interfax) - One of the drones that attacked the city of Sevastopol Sunday targeted the Balaklava thermal power plant, governor Mikhail Razvozzhayev said on Monday.

"There was information on a drone that attacked the Balaklava thermal power plant. It was one of those that were suppressed by EW [electronic warfare], it was found roughly within a kilometer from the plant. It got stuck somewhere in the trees, detonated in the woods," Razvozzhayev said at a staff meeting.

The drones missed their targets, he said.

According to data from the Russian Defense Ministry, an attempt by Kiev to carry out a terrorist attack with seven unmanned aerial vehicles and two crewless semi-submersible boats near Sevastopol was foiled on the morning of July 16.
