MOSCOW. July 17 (Interfax) - Divers have not found any damage to the pillars of the Crimean Bridge, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said on Monday.
"Builders and designers are carrying out a full examination. It means there are divers working. I can report that, from the divers' preliminary examinations, the pillars are undamaged. This is a very good piece of information, we expected something worse, the pillars are in normal condition," Khusnullin said at a meeting held by President Vladimir Putin by video link to discuss the matter.
He said earlier that the bridge's railway was operating normally. Traffic remains suspended on the bridge's roadway.
