MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - Twenty-eight drones launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in an attempt to attack sites in Crimea have been intercepted, the Russian military said.
"An attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack on facilities in the territory of the Crimean Peninsula using 28 unmanned aerial vehicles was thwarted overnight," the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
"Seventeen Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed by air defenses. Eleven other UAVs were jammed by electronic warfare forces and crashed before reaching their targets," the ministry said.
"There were no casualties or destruction as a result of the thwarted terrorist attack," it said.
