MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - Russian forces have repelled 12 attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk sector, three in the Zaporozhye and southern Donetsk sectors each, and two in the Krasny Liman sector over the past 24 hours, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have continued attempts to advance in the Donetsk, Krasny Liman, and southern Donetsk sectors. In the Donetsk sector, well-coordinated and intensive actions by the southern group of forces and aviation and artillery strikes successfully repelled 12 enemy attacks near Pervomaiskoye, Vesyoloye, Krasnogorovka, Maryinka, and northwest of Kleshcheyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR]," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
Three more attacks were repelled in the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye sectors each and two in the Krasny Liman sector, he said.
Concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and military hardware were struck near Stupochki, Konstantinovka, and Krasnoye in the DPR, and an ammunition depot of the Ukrainian 79th Air Assault Brigade was destroyed near Krasnogorovka (DPR), he said.
Ukraine's losses in the Donetsk sector included "up to 400 Ukrainian service members, two armored fighting vehicles, three pickup trucks, a U.S.-made M777 artillery system, three Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery systems, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, two Msta-B howitzers, and D-20 and D-30 guns," he said.
"In the Krasny Liman sector, the central group of forces used aviation, artillery, and heavy flamethrower systems [thermobaric rocket launchers] to repel two enemy attacks near Chervonaya Dibrova and Makeyevka in the Lugansk People's Republic [LPR]. Ukrainian units were also struck near Terny in the DPR and near Chervonaya Dibrova, Kovalevka, and Karmazinovka in the LPR. The actions of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group were neutralized near Kuzmino in the LPR," he said.
"Up to 100 Ukrainian troops have been killed and two armored fighting vehicles, three automobiles, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system, and two D-30 howitzers have been destroyed in this area over the past 24 hours," he said.
In the southern Donetsk sector, units of the eastern group of forces used tactical and army aircraft and artillery to strike Ukrainian personnel and hardware near Urozhainoye (DPR) and Priyutnoye in the Zaporozhye region, he said.
"Three enemy attacks were repelled near Vladimirovka and Urozhainoye in the DPR," he said.
"In the Zaporozhye sector, well-coordinated actions by Russian forces repelled three enemy attacks near Novodanilovka in the Zaporozhye region. Concentrations of Ukrainian personnel and hardware were struck near Malaya Tokmachka and Orekhov in the Zaporozhye region," he said.
Three ammunition depots of the Ukrainian 23rd and 33rd Mechanized Brigades were destroyed near Malaya Tokmachka and Uspenovka in the Zaporozhye region, he said.
"The enemy's losses in this sectors have amounted to over 200 service members, one tank, two armored fighting vehicles, four pickup trucks, a Msta-B howitzer, and a D-44 artillery gun over the past 24 hours," Konashenkov said.
In the Kherson sector, up to 50 Ukrainian troops have been killed and four pickup trucks, two Msta-B howitzers, and an Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system have been destroyed in this period, Konashenkov said.
