BELGOROD. July 18 (Interfax) - Five people have been injured in an attack on a village in the Shebekino urban district, governor of Russia's Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
"The outskirts of Shamino village have been attacked by Ukraine's Armed Forces. According to preliminary data, five people - civilians - have been injured. All of them were taken by paramedic teams to town hospital No. 2. One man has a fragmentation chest wound, doctors assess his condition as moderately severe. The other four [sustained] minor injuries. All necessary medical assistance is being provided," Gladkov said on Telegram on Tuesday.
The region's border areas have been repeatedly attacked from Ukraine's side since February 24, 2022. There are dead and wounded among the civilian population. This led the region to declare a yellow (high) level of terrorist danger. Fifteen border settlements have imposed a state of emergency.
