Russian Security Council works out safety measures for 2023 elections

MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council experts have drawn up measures to provide security in the run-up to and on election day in 2023, the Council's press service said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Additional measures have been worked out to ensure the safety of citizens and public order inside the premises of electoral commissions and at polling stations during the elections," the statement said.

At its meeting, the Security Council's interagency commission for public safety also examined matters related to preventing and stopping violations of the elections law, the press service said.

"Separate attention was given to the implementation of special sanitary anti-epidemic measures to prevent the spread of viral infections at polling stations," the statement said.
