BELGOROD. July 19 (Interfax) - Fifteen communities in six municipalities have come under attack from the Ukrainian army over the past 24 hours, and five civilians were injured, the Belgorod region's governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
"The village of Shamino in the Shebekino urban district was attacked with artillery. We counted eight hits. Five people were injured in the attack; all of them suffered shrapnel wounds," Gladkov said on Telegram on Wednesday.
He said that the ambulances took the injured men to the city hospital.
In addition, six mortar shells were fired at the community of Leninsky, three mortar shells and one artillery shell at the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, eight mortar shells at the village of Terezovka, three mortar shells at the Maryino farm, and seven artillery shells were fired at the Shebekino checkpoint.
No casualties or damage were reported in the attacks on these communities.
"A mortar was fired at the outskirts of Bogun-Gorodok in the Borisovka district. We counted two hits. There were no consequences. A fire broke out at the Lozovaya Rudka and Klimovoye farms in a wheat field belonging to an agricultural company. The causes of the fire are being investigated," Gladkov said.
Four communities were attacked in the Valuiki urban district.
Four artillery shells were fired at Kukuyevka village and two mortar shells at Novopetrovka village. No casualties or damage were reported in the attack.
Ukraine dropped an unidentified explosive device using a drone in the village of Verigovka. No damage was done.
"The Babka farm was attacked with tube artillery. We counted 13 hits. No one was injured. Three private houses were damaged: windows were blown out, and roofs, outbuildings and fences were damaged. The electricity transmission line was damaged by shell fragments," he said.
He said that the electricity transmission line has now been restored.
Four artillery shells were fired at Nekhoteyevka village in the Belgorod district, 15 shells at the village of Zhuravlyovka. The enemy dropped two bombs on Naumovka village using an unmanned aerial vehicle.
No casualties or damage were reported in any of the district's communities.
An enemy kamikaze drone attacked Dronovka village in the Graivoron urban district, and a grenade launcher was fired at the outskirts of Popovka village in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district. No casualties or damage were reported.
