MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has reported downing a Ukrainian Sukhoi Su-25 plane in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and a Mil Mi-8 helicopter in the Kharkov region.
"Russian Aerospace Forces' fighter aircraft downed a Su-25 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force near Razdolnoye in the DPR," Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
"Air defense forces downed a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter near Kutkovka in the Kharkov region," he said.
Russian forces also intercepted five HIMARS rockets and destroyed 18 Ukrainian drones in the Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions and in the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics over the past 24 hours, he said.
"A total of 456 planes, 243 helicopters, 5,108 unmanned aerial vehicles, 426 air defense missile systems, 10,761 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,139 multiple rocket launcher vehicles, 5,522 field artillery systems and mortars, and 11,752 special military vehicles have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation," he said.
