MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Russian forces have repelled 25 attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk sector and four in the Krasny Liman sector over the past 24 hours, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been making attempts to advance in the Donetsk, Krasny Liman, and southern Donetsk sectors. In the Donetsk sector, well-coordinated actions by the southern group of forces and strikes using aviation, artillery, and heavy flamethrower systems [thermobaric rocket launchers] successfully repelled 25 enemy attacks near Belogorovka, Pervomaiskoye, Nevelskoye, Maryinka, and Severnoye and northwest of Kleshcheyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR]," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
Four Ukrainian attacks were repelled in the Krasny Liman sector, he said.
"Ukrainian personnel and hardware were struck near Seversk, Chasov Yar, Toretsk, and Krasnogorovka in the DPR," he said.
Ukrainian losses in the Donetsk sector over the past 24 hours included over 340 troops, two tanks, three armored fighting vehicles, four pickup trucks, a German-made Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzer, two Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery systems, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and two D-30 howitzers, he said.
"In the Krasny Liman sector, the central group of forces used artillery and aircraft to repel four enemy attacks near Karmazinovka, Shipilovka, Kremennaya, and Belogorovka in the Lugansk People's Republic. Ukrainian units were fired upon near Novosadovoye, Yampolovka, and Serebryanka in the DPR. The actions of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group were disrupted near Torskoye in the DPR," he said.
Ukraine's losses in this area over the past 24 hours included up to 100 troops, two armored fighting vehicles, three automobiles, two Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, and two D-30 howitzers, he said.
"In the southern Donetsk sector, air and artillery strikes by units of the eastern group of forces repelled an enemy attack near Rabotino in the Zaporozhye region. Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and hardware were hit near Priyutnoye in the Zaporozhye region and near Makarovka and Rovnopol in the DPR. The actions of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group were neutralized near Staromayorskoye in the DPR," Konashenkov said.
In the Zaporozhye sector, the Russian army fired on concentrations of Ukrainian personnel and hardware near Novopokrovka and Malaya Tokmachka in the Zaporozhye region and neutralized a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group near Marfopol in the Zaporozhye region, he said.
"The enemy's losses in this sectors over the past 24 hours included over 170 troops, two tanks, nine armored fighting vehicles, four automobiles, a Msta-B howitzer, three D-20 guns, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and a U.S.-made AN/TPQ-50 weapon locating radar system," Konashenkov said.
In the Kherson sector, "up to 50 Ukrainian troops were killed and an armored fighting vehicle, three pickup trucks, and a D-30 howitzer were destroyed by combined strikes," he said.
