WASHINGTON. July 19 (Interfax) - The United States is providing another $1.3 billion for weapons for Ukraine, the Pentagon said on Wednesday.
This tranche will be provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). The program envisages the procurement of new weapons, not the supply of weapons already located in U.S. depots.
"The capabilities in this announcement, which totals $1.3 billion," the U.S. Department of Defense said in its statement.
In particular, it envisages the procurement of four NASAMS missile systems, TOW anti-tank missile systems, mine clearance equipment, Phoenix Ghost and Switchblade drones, equipment for fighting drones and for radioelectronic warfare.
The Pentagon also promises Ukraine 150 fuel trucks and road vehicles for military hardware transportation and for evacuation of equipment from the battlefield.
