MOSCOW. July 20 (Interfax) - Russia stands ready to provide assistance, in particular, in matters of obtaining Russian citizenship, to foreigners willing to perform their professional activities in Donbass, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Absolutely. The president said that he would be willing to help both Christelle [Neant, a foreign military reporter working in Donbass who took part in the president's meeting with the Supervisory Board of the Russia - Land of Opportunities autonomous nonprofit organization] and other foreigners living in the new Russian regions, who have been telling the truth about what is happening there for a very long time, since the very beginning of the war in 2014," Peskov told reporters when asked whether the Kremlin was willing to assist foreign journalists, such as Neant, who want to obtain Russian citizenship.
"This, of course, concerns both those who will want to apply for Russian citizenship and those who want to pursue their professional activities there, most importantly," Peskov added.
Peskov noted that the activities of military reporter Neant have been known for a long time, she is planning to engage in more systematic work in Donbass. "And in this case, the president has just promised to help her," Peskov said.
