MOSCOW. July 20 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has reported repelling 16 attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk sector and two in the Krasny Liman sector and the southern Donetsk sector each over the past 24 hours.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been making attempts to advance in the Donetsk, Krasny Liman, and southern Donetsk sectors. In the Donetsk sector, well-coordinated and intensive actions by the southern group of forces and strikes using aviation and artillery successfully repelled 16 enemy attacks near Belogorovka, Pervomaiskoye, Vesyoloye, Krasnogorovka, Maryinka, and north of Kleshcheyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR]," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Thursday.
Two more attacks were repelled in the Krasny Liman and southern Donetsk sectors each, he said.
"Tactical and army air forces struck Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and hardware near Bogdanovka, Chasov Yar, and Dyleyevka of the Donetsk People's Republic," Konashenkov said.
"Over 210 Ukrainian troops were killed and one armored fighting vehicle, three automobiles, a U.S.-made M777 artillery system, an Akatsiya and a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, two D-30 howitzers, and a D-20 and Msta-B gun were destroyed," he said.
"Two ammunition depots of the 81st and 110th Mechanized Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed near Serebryanka and Avdeyevka of the Donetsk People's Republic," Konashenkov said.
In the Kupyansk sector, the western group of forces used tactical and army aircraft and artillery to destroy Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and hardware near Molchanovo and Kislovka of the Kharkov region and near Stelmakhovka of the Lugansk People's Republic. They also neutralized a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group near Ivanovka of the Kharkov region, he said.
"The enemy's losses amounted to up to 110 Ukrainian troops, an infantry fighting vehicle, four automobiles, a Msta-B and a D-20 howitzer," he said.
In the Krasny Liman sector, the central group of forces repelled two Ukrainian attacks northwest of Chervonaya Dibrova and destroyed a sabotage and reconnaissance group near Kremennaya in the Lugansk People's Republic, he said.
Aviation and artillery strikes hit units of the 21st, 63rd, and 67th Mechanized Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Yampolovka and Torskoye of the Donetsk People's Republic and near the Serebryanka forestry, he said.
"Up to 60 Ukrainian servicemen were killed and an infantry fighting vehicle, two armored fighting vehicles, three automobiles, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and two D-30 howitzers were destroyed over the past 24 hours," he said.
In the southern Donetsk sector, the eastern group of forces repelled two attacks near Staromayorskoye and Urozhainoye of the Donetsk People's Republic and struck concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and hardware near Makarovka (DPR) and Levadnoye of the Zaporozhye region, Konashenkov said.
"In the Zaporozhye sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces units were fired upon near Novodanilovka and Lobkovoye of the Zaporozhye region. In addition, actions of two Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups were disrupted near Charivnoye and Mirnoye of the Zaporozhye region," Konashenkov said.
"The enemy's losses in said sectors included up to 170 Ukrainian troops, six tanks, three armored fighting vehicles, two automobiles, and a Msta-B and D-20 howitzer," he said.
In the Kherson sector, up to 45 Ukrainian troops were killed and an armored fighting vehicle, three pickup trucks, and a D-30 howitzer were destroyed over the past 24 hours, he said.
