ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 20 (Interfax) -The section of the Tavrida highway which was closed earlier in the wake of an ammunition accident at a training range in Crimea's Kirovsky district has reopened for traffic, the Crimean Transport Ministry said.
"As of 5 p.m., traffic on the previously closed section of the Tavrida highway, specifically from the 118th kilometer to the 130th kilometer, has been reopened in both directions," the ministry said on Telegram.
As previously reported, a military range and munitions caught fire in the Kirovsky district in eastern Crimea in the early hours of July 19. About 2,200 people were evacuated.
A section of the Tavrida federal highway, which connects the Crimean Bridge with Sevastopol, was subsequently closed for traffic due to the fire at the range. All traffic was diverted to a regional road network via Stary Krym and the old Kerch road via Pervomaiskoye.
The Crimean Emergency Situations Ministry said on Thursday afternoon that "the frequency of explosive detonations has been decreasing."
