Putin: NATO arsenals, stocks of Soviet arms in Ukraine exhausted significantly

MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - While additional supplies of Western weapons to Ukraine are causing some damage to Russia, this is only prolonging the conflict and gradually depleting NATO's arsenals, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Certainly, this is causing us some damage and prolonging the conflict. But NATO arsenals and stocks of old Soviet weapons in some countries have been exhausted significantly, and the West's manufacturing capacity is not enough to quickly make up for the expended hardware and ammunition reserves," Putin said at a conference with Russian Security Council permanent members.

"This takes great resources and a lot of time. And what counts most, Ukrainian Armed Forces units have suffered huge losses resulting from suicidal attacks," he said.
