Twenty-six percent of Russians name special military operation last week's most important event - poll

MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - Twenty-six percent of Russian citizens polled in a recent public opinion survey consider the special military operation the most important event of last week, the Public Opinion Foundation said in a statement on its website on Friday.

Such respondents explained their answer with the need to ensure national security and sympathy for special military operation participants.

The other most significant events of last week include efforts to deal with the aftermath of natural disasters, including forest fires and floods, in a number of Russian regions, the pollsters said.

The Public Opinion Foundation polled 1,500 respondents aged 18 and over in 104 communities in 53 regions of Russia on July 14-16, 2023.
