MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces have made attempts to advance in three sectors in the past 24 hours, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been making unsuccessful attempts to advance in the Donetsk, Krasny Liman, and southern Donetsk sectors. In the Donetsk sector, intensive actions by the southern group of forces and strikes using aviation and artillery successfully repelled nine enemy attacks near Zolotarevka in the Lugansk People's Republic [LPR] and Mayorsk, Vesyoloye, Maryinka, Vodyanoye and north of Kleshcheyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR]," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.
Russian forces also repelled three attacks in the Krasny Liman sector and one in the Zaporozhye sector, he said.
"Tactical and army aircraft struck Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and hardware near Novomikhailovka, Dyleyevka, Belaya Gora, and Aleksandro-Shultino in the DPR. In addition, two ammunition depots of the Ukrainian 38th Marine Brigade and the 118th Territorial Defense Brigade were destroyed near Razliv and Vyemka in the DPR," Konashenkov said.
Up to 185 Ukrainian troops have been killed and three armored fighting vehicles, four automobiles, and a D-20 and D-30 howitzer have been destroyed over the past 24 hours, he said.
In the Krasny Liman sector, actions by units of the central group of forces and strikes using aircraft, artillery, and thermobaric rocket launchers repelled three Ukrainian attacks on Chervonaya Dibrova, Kovalevka, and Karmazinovka in the LPR, he said. In addition, Ukrainian forces were struck near Nevskoye, Makeyevka, Novoyegorovka, and Raigorodka in the LPR, as well as Yampolovka and Terny in the DPR. A Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was neutralized near Torskoye in the DPR, he said.
"The enemy's overall losses amounted to over 100 Ukrainian troops, one tank, four armored fighting vehicles, seven pickup trucks, and a D-20 and a D-30 howitzer," he said.
In the southern Donetsk sector, the eastern group of forces used aircraft and artillery to strike Ukrainian personnel and hardware near Makarovka (DPR) and Levadnoye in the Zaporozhye region, Konashenkov said. Russian forces also neutralized a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group near Priyutnoye in the Zaporozhye region, he said.
"In the Zaporozhye sector, the actions of [Russian] units and artillery strikes repelled an enemy attack near Malaya Tokmachka in the Zaporozhye region. In addition, two ammunition depots of the Ukrainian 23rd Mechanized Brigade and the 36th Marine Brigade were destroyed near Uspenovka and Rovnopolye in the Zaporozhye region," Konashenkov said.
"The enemy's losses in these areas in the past 24 hours have amounted to over 175 troops, three armored fighting vehicles, two automobiles, two D-20 howitzers, and a U.S.-made AN/TPQ-36 weapon locating radar system," he said.
"In the Kupyansk sector, the western group of forces used aircraft and artillery to strike Ukrainian personnel and hardware near Stelmakhovka in the LPR, [and] Figolevka, Kalinovo, Zagoruikovka, Timkovka, and Krasnoye Pervoye in the Kharkov region. They also disrupted the actions of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group near Novoselovskoye in the LPR, he said.
An ammunition depot of the Ukrainian 1st Special Operations Brigade was destroyed near Volchansk in the Kharkov region, he said.
"Up to 30 Ukrainian troops have been killed and two armored fighting vehicles, three automobiles, a Msta-B and a D-20 howitzer, two D-30 guns, and a U.S.-made AN/TPQ-36 weapon locating radar system have been destroyed over the past 24 hours," Konashenkov said.
In the Kherson sector, up to 35 Ukrainian troops have been killed and four automobiles and a U.S.-made AN/TPQ-36 weapon locating radar system have been destroyed in the past 24 hours, he said.
An ammunition depot of the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade has been destroyed near Veletenskoye in the Kherson region, he said.
