MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov have discussed ways to intensify the work on Azerbaijani-Armenian normalization in a phone call, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
"The ministers discussed ways to intensify joint work in the key areas of Azerbaijani-Armenian normalization based on the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. An agreement was reached on further contacts," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website.
The phone conversation took place at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side, the ministry said.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev earlier on Friday announced talks between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Moscow in the near future. "The next round of negotiations [between the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers] should take place in Moscow within the next few days," Aliyev said in Shusha.
