Seven districts in Belgorod region attacked by Ukrainian troops over past 24 hrs - Belgorod region's governor

BELGOROD. July 21 (Interfax) - Twenty communities in several districts of the Belgorod region have been attacked by Ukrainian troops over the past 24 hours, the region's governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Friday.

The largest number of attacks hit the Shebekino urban district, he said.

"Fourteen mortar rounds were launched at the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, nine mortar rounds at the village of Maryino, six at the village of Terezovka, and four at the settlement of Leninsky. The attacks caused no casualties or damage in these communities. The villages of Murom and Nekhoteyevka came under mortar attack; two hits were recorded on each. No one was hurt. In Murom, shelling damaged the exteriors, fences and roofs of two private houses. In Nekhoteyevka, one private house, a gas pipeline and an electric power line were damaged," Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.

Four villages have come under fire in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district, Gladkov said.

"Eight artillery shells were launched on the village of Vyazovoye. There were no casualties. Shell fragments damaged three private houses. Their windows were broken, [and] the exteriors and roofs were damaged. One household's outbuilding was damaged. Four artillery shells were fired at the outskirts of the village of Grafovka and one at the outskirts of the village of Staroselye. There were no consequences. There was also an artillery strike on the outskirts of the village of Popovka; five hits were registered. No one was hurt. Gas and electric power lines were damaged in the attack; they have now been restored," he said.

Ukrainian troops attacked four villages in the Belgorod region. There were no casualties or damage in any of them.

"Twelve artillery shells were launched at the village of Zhuravlyovka, four artillery and three mortar shells were fired at the village of Shchetinokva, and one artillery shell was launched at the village of Solntsevka. A grenade was dropped using a drone in the village of Nekhoteyevka," the governor said.

Two villages in the Graivoron urban district were attacked with artillery.

"Five artillery shells were fired at the village of Smorodino. No one was hurt. Three private households' windows were broken and their exteriors, roofs and gates were damaged. There was damage to the premises of an agricultural enterprise. The outskirts of the village of Novostroyevka-Vrotaya was attacked with tube artillery; six hits were registered. There were no consequences," Gladkov said.

The outskirts of the village of Stary and the village of Tishanka in the Volokonsky district were attacked with artillery, mortars and grenade launchers. Eighteen and 15 hits were registered, respectively. No casualties or damage occurred as a result of the attacks.

In the Borisovsky district, the outskirts of the village of Bogun-Gorodok came under fire from mortars. Ten hits were recorded, and there were no consequences.

The enemy dropped one grenade using a drone in the Valuyki urban district, in the village of Novopetrovka. Non one was hurt, and there was no damage.

The Belgorod region's border areas have been sporadically attacked from Ukraine since February 24, 2022. There have been civilian casualties. The region has declared a high (yellow) level of terrorist alert and a state of emergency in 15 border communities.
