Russian law enforcement working intensively round-the-clock to ensure regions' security - Peskov

MOSCOW. July 24 (Interfax) - Additional instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin following the recent Ukrainian drone attacks on Moscow and Crimea are not required, and Russian law enforcement agencies are on alert, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

When asked by reporters whether additional instructions from the president were required following the new drone attacks on various facilities in Russia, Peskov said, "They're hardly required here. Everyone dealing with the security of our regions is on alert. Everyone is taking measures."

Peskov noted that the intensity of attempts to attack Russian regions with drones has increased in recent days, "therefore, measures are being taken."

"Daily and very intensive round-the-clock work is being carried out," he said.

Journalists also recalled that after the previous drone attack on Moscow, Putin gave instructions to improve the air defense system. "This is an issue that relates more to the agency specializing in this, the Defense Ministry," Peskov said.

Both drones that attacked Moscow in the early hours of Monday were neutralized, he said. "Measures are being taken in this regard. But as for the development of the defense system, more intensive work, you need to ask the Defense Ministry," Peskov said.
