MOSCOW. July 24 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has met with Wang Yi, director of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee Foreign Affairs Commission Office, the Russian Security Council's press service said.
"The sides have discussed deeper Russian-Chinese cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, and the incremental broadening of practical interaction between Russia and China in terms of comprehensively consolidating the security of both countries," the press service said.
"Also, there was an exchange of views on the situation in the Asia Pacific region," it said.
Patrushev and Wang Yi met in Johannesburg on the sidelines of a meeting of BRICS countries' high security representatives.
