Russian businessman Deripaska sues journalist Osetinskaya, rights activist Romanova over interview on PMCs - lawyer

MOSCOW. July 25 (Interfax) - Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska has filed a lawsuit against journalist Yelizaveta Osetinskaya (designated as a foreign agent in Russia), the founder of The Bell online media outlet (put into the list of foreign agents), and human rights activist Olga Romanova, Deripaska's lawyer Alexei Melnikov told Interfax.

"In an interview, Olga Romanova provided false information that Deripaska owns two private military companies [PMC]. This information is not true and is slanderous," Melnikov said.

The lawyer said that his client does not seek any financial compensation but demands that the respondents issue a retraction of these allegations.

A spokesperson for Moscow's Tagansky District Court, which has received Deripaska's defamation lawsuit, said that a discussion on the case has been scheduled for August 10.
