Russian Security Council secretary holds Russian-Mozambican security consultations in Maputo - Security Council

MOSCOW. July 26 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has held consultations on security with Mozambican Interior Minister Arsenia Massingue and met with Director of the Mozambican Information and State Security Service Bernardo Lidimba, the Russian Security Council administration's press service said.

"During the meetings and consultations, the parties exchanged views on current issues in international security. The parties discussed in detail efforts to intensify cooperation through the security councils, as well as through the two countries' law enforcement agencies and security services," the press service said in a statement.

The parties focused on enhancing cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism, the spread of radical ideology, international organized crime, drug trafficking, and money laundering, it said.

"The parties reaffirmed the focus on further strengthening traditionally friendly relations based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs," the press service said.
