If Kremlin gets letter from businessman Sachkov's defense concerning his conviction, it will consider it - Peskov

MOSCOW. July 27 (Interfax) - If the Kremlin receives an address from the defense team of Group-IB founder Ilya Sachkov concerning his conviction in a high treason case, it will consider it in line with the established procedure, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"The Kremlin is not an institution where appeals are to be submitted. If this is going to be a letter setting out some position, it will be considered in line with the established procedure, when it comes," Peskov told journalists.

The Moscow City Court ruled on Wednesday to find Sachkov guilty of high treason and sentence him to 14 years in a high security penitentiary. Sachkov's defense team said it would appeal the judgment and would address President Vladimir Putin concerning his conviction.
