MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax) - Three residents of Russia's Voronezh region have been detained for passing information about Russian military sites and transport infrastructure to members of the Right Sector, an extremist network banned in Russia, the public relations center of the Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Monday.
"The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation has put a stop to the illegal activity of three citizens of Russia, residents of the Voronezh region who committed high treason by assisting members of the Right Sector Ukrainian nationalistic organization in their actions against Russia's security," the FSB said.
The detainees passed "information about Russian military sites and transport infrastructure," it said.
The investigative division of the FSB's regional branch charged the detainees with treason.
The offense is punishable with up to life imprisonment, the FSB said.
