Russia presents its draft statement on summit results to S. Africa - Peskov

MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax) - Russia has presented its draft of a joint statement on the results of Russian President Vladimir Putin's meeting with African leaders on Ukraine, and the document will be published as soon as Pretoria approves it, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Indeed, there was an agreement that the key parameters of the discussion [on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa summit] would be formalized by a joint statement," Peskov said.

This is not a document that will be signed, he said.

"Since [South African President Cyril] Ramaphosa is the organizer of this initiative, the Russian side prepared its draft of the statement, which was handed to the South African delegation before it left St. Petersburg," Peskov said.

"The South African side will publish it as soon as the text is approved," he said.
