MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax) - Russian forces have repelled eight Ukrainian attacks in the Donetsk sector, alongside three in the Krasny Liman sector and two in the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye sectors, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"In the Donetsk sector, combined efforts of the units in defense, closely interacting with aircraft and artillery of the southern group of forces, successfully repelled eight attacks of the enemy near Belogorovka, Berestovoye, Severnoye, Maryinka and Zaitsevo in the Donetsk People's Republic," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
Two enemy attacks were repelled by intensive operations of the group in the DPR and the Zaporozhye region, he said.
"In the Krasny Liman sector, units of the central group of forces, army aviation and artillery successfully repelled three attacks of the enemy in the vicinity of Raigorodok, Nevskoye and Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People's Republic," Konashenkov said.
"Over the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces kept trying to mount an offensive in the Donetsk, southern Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kupyansk and Krasny Liman sectors," he said.
Ukrainian units were hit in the DPR, Konashenkov said.
In the Donetsk sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 345 troops, one tank, six infantry vehicles, four trucks, a Grad multiple rocket launcher, five Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery systems, and five artillery systems, among them one U.S.-made M777, he said.
Two depots with ammo and missile and artillery systems of the 24th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and an ammo depot of the 38th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed in the DPR, Konashenkov said.
"In the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye sectors, aircraft, artillery and heavy flamethrowers of the eastern group of forces hit Ukrainian troops and hardware near Prechistovka and Makarovka in the Donetsk People's Republic and Malaya Tokmachka and Novoandreyevka in the Zaporozhye region," he said.
"In those areas, the enemy lost over 220 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, six infantry vehicles, including one U.S.-made Bradley, two trucks, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system, an Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer and a Giatsint-B cannon over the past day," he said.
A Ukrainian sabotage-and-reconnaissance group was neutralized in the DPR, Konashenkov said.
"A combined strike was delivered on units of the 21st, 63rd and 66th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Sergeyevka in the Lugansk People's Republic, Druzhelyubovka in the Kharkov region, and Torskoye and Serebryanka in the Donetsk People's Republic," he said.
The Ukrainian army lost over 75 troops, three armored combat vehicles, two pickup trucks, D-20 and D-30 howitzers, and two Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems in the past 24 hours, Konashenkov said.
"In the Kherson sector, gunfire killed up to 40 Ukrainian troops and destroyed three trucks, an Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system and a Msta-B howitzer over the past day," he said.
