YEREVAN. Aug 3 (Interfax) - Russia's peacekeeping contingent stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh should explain why the humanitarian cargo sent by the Armenian government cannot reach the unrecognized republic, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.
"After the Azerbaijani president said in an interview with Euronews that the Lachin corridor is not blocked, we need to hear explanations from the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh as to why they have not ensured the delivery of humanitarian cargo sent by the Armenian government to Nagorno-Karabakh," Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.
It is important that the Russian peacekeepers clarify this matter, he said. "Our agencies should seek corresponding explanations," he said.
The Armenian government sent 400 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Nagorno-Karabakh on July 26. The convoy of 19 trucks is currently stranded in the Armenian town of Kornidzor near the Lachin corridor.
