Baku, Yerevan make progress during talks on some articles of future peace treaty - Azerbaijani FM

BAKU. Aug 3 (Interfax) - There is progress on some articles of the future agreement with Armenia on establishing peace and interstate relations, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.

"The talks have allowed the sides to narrow down their differences and achieve progress on several articles of future bilateral agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations," Bayramov said in his letter to the UN Security Council president, a copy of which is possessed by Interfax.

It is important for the international community to "persuade this country to finally stop its actions undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, refrain from interfering with its internal affairs and, instead, engage in good faith in negotiations on post-conflict normalization," he said.

The foreign minister reaffirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to the process of normalizing relations with Armenia. "In this context, Azerbaijan continues to rely on the international community to support the ongoing bilateral normalization process with Armenia," Bayramov said.
