Kremlin concerned about regional tensions created by coup in Niger

MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - The Kremlin is concerned about the regional situation created by the recent coup in Niger and calls for returning to the constitutional track, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"We are monitoring this situation very closely. Naturally, we are concerned about tensions rising in the region and we stay committed to the soonest return of the situation to the constitutional track without any damage and without any risk, primarily, to human lives," Peskov said.
