MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - Poland's authorities are ramping up tensions and provoking situations in relations with Belarus, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.
"On the whole, the Poles are prone to provoking situations and aggravating tensions. This policy, which is not new, has only been progressing in recent years," Peskov told reporters, when asked to comment on the Polish authorities' statements about the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border, where they claim Wagner Group units are heading to, and about violations of Poland's airspace by Belarusian aircraft.
He confirmed that Wagner Group members are in Belarus under the existing agreement.
"Either near the border or far from the border, it is Belarus's territory, and Belarus is a sovereign state. As regards Belarusian helicopters, if I get it right, the Poles themselves have confirmed that no violation was recorded by radars. There are many peculiarities in that situation," he said.
