ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 7 (Interfax) - Security services have examined the object taken for a naval mine near a Sevastopol beach, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said.
"The fleet's security services have checked the object spotted in the sea not far from the Lyubimovka beach. The alarm appeared to be false - this is not a mine," Razvozhayev said on Telegram.
The governor thanked security services for vigilance.
Razvozhayev said earlier that a naval mine was spotted drifting less than 100 meters from the beach. It was planned to either tow the mine away or to destroy it on site.
