BRUSSELS. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The possibility of a summit on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine was suggested on the first day of Jeddah consultations, according to a representative of EU institutions.
The European diplomat said that the summit was likely to be held before the end of this year, yet the exact date was not discussed for now.
The source specifically noted China's participation in the two-day consultations at the level of security advisors.
He said that China had been active and had a positive attitude to the idea of holding the third meeting at such a level.
About 30 countries took part in consultations on a peace settlement in Ukraine in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier that Moscow would be following the talks on Ukraine hosted by Saudi Arabia.
