MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has reported intercepting nine Storm Shadow cruise missiles and downing 14 drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past 24 hours.
"Air defense systems have intercepted nine Storm Shadow cruise missiles and four missiles [fired by] HIMARS multiple rocket launchers over the past 24 hours," Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Monday.
Fourteen drones have been destroyed in the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics and in the Zaporozhye region, he said.
"Tactical and army aircraft and missile and artillery forces of the Russian Armed Forces have struck 107 artillery crews at their firing positions, as well as personnel and military hardware in 126 areas," he said.
Russian forces have also destroyed three ammunition depots of the 117th Territorial Defense Brigade and the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 14th and 43rd Mechanized Brigades in the Sumy and Kharkov regions, he said.
"A command center of the Ukrainian 95th Air Assault Brigade was struck near Yampol in the Donetsk People's Republic," he said.
