Rostec fully meeting all production targets for Russian Defense Ministry - Chemezov

MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - All production volumes for products required by the Russian Defense Ministry are being fully met, Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"We are fully meeting [production of] all the volumes that are currently required by the Defense Ministry," Chemezov said.

The company has increased its production of all types of military products, which are used on a major scale in the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, he said.

"First and foremost, these include tube and rocket artillery, light and heavy armored vehicles, transport helicopters, combat aircraft, heavy weapons systems, small arms, all types of ammunition, BMP-3 [infantry fighting vehicles], BTR-MDM [armored personnel carriers], T-90M Proryv tanks, Iskander missile systems, Kinzhal hypersonic missile systems, Kamov Ka-52, Mil Mi-28, Sukhoi Su-35, Su-57 helicopters, [and] Kub and Lantset drones," he said.

The production targets for some products are being met ahead of schedule, Rostec's press service said following the meeting.

"Rostec has also boosted production of ammunition; for instance, the output of shells for tube artillery systems and multiple rocket launchers has increased 20 times or more, and four times for armored vehicles," the press service said.

"We are covering the losses we incur at the expense of civilian products which we already have today, and we can increase finances at the expense of this to have a surplus," Chemezov said, noting that the profitability of the state defense order is low, and sometimes even in the red.

Rostec's enterprises fulfilled the state defense order by 99.5% last year, he also said.
