Belarusian artillery units training to operate Polonez MLRS

MINSK. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Belarusian artillery units are conducting a field exercise involving Uragan and Polonez multiple launch rocket systems, the Belarusian Defense Ministry's press service said on Tuesday.

"Servicemen are learning to operate the Uragan multiple launch rocket system and the Belarusian-made, state-of-the art V-200 BM Polonez multiple launch rocket system. Mastering the use of the Polonez system is a priority," the press service said.

Polonez systems will soon be delivered to the 231st Artillery Brigade stationed in the Vitebsk region, it said.

"As part of their intensive training, personnel who operate multiple launch rocket systems are studying the system's tactical and technical features, and are learning the basics of operating and aiming it and the rules for firing it. The field exercise will also include a training session during which servicemen will practice carrying out missile strikes while working with Supercam S350 and Supercam S100 unmanned aircraft systems assigned to them. The training is being carried out both within groups and individually," the press service said.
