Ukrainian movement Allatra designated unwelcome in Russia

MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has designated the Ukrainian religious movement Allatra as unwelcome in Russia.

"It has been decided to declare the activity of the Allatra international civil movement, Ukraine, unwelcome in the territory of the Russian Federation," the Office said.

According to the Office, Allatra, whose director is a citizen of Ukraine, "is a pseudo-religious movement founded in Ukraine and operating in Russia and a number of other countries."

In the territory of Russia, the movement is involved in "alleged missionary activity without having the status of a religious organization," the Office said.

"Seeking to conceal the political nature of operations, the events are held under the aegis of its project, the Constructive Society organization (managed from the United States). Activists of the Allatra international civil organization, working in the territory of the Russian Federation, receive orders from Ukrainian curators to establish contacts with representatives of opposition forces and to hold joint, coordinated actions aimed to discredit the policy of federal and regional authorities," the Office said.

Allatra ideologists "force citizens of the Russian Federation to commit extremist crimes," it said.

"Since the beginning of the special military operation, the organization has been spreading knowingly false information to discredit the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," the Office said.
