Child hurt after Ukrainian drone crashes onto monastery grounds in Russia's Kursk region

VORONEZH. Aug 8 (Interfax) - A Ukrainian drone has crashed in the Sudzha district of the Kursk region, injuring a child, regional governor Roman Starovoit said.

"A kamikaze drone launched from the Ukrainian side crashed near the Gornal monastery of St. Nicholas in the Sudzha district. A child sustained light fragmentation wounds to the arm and forearm. He was provided with first aid on site. He is now being taken to the central district hospital for examination," Starovoit said on Telegram on Tuesday.

The Kursk region's border areas have come under repeated cross-border attacks by Ukraine's Armed Forces since 2022. The region has declared a high (yellow) terrorist threat level.
