KRASNOGORSK. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Thirty-one people were hurt in an explosion at a plant in Sergiyev Posad, and three of them are now in an intensive care unit, Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov said.
"Services have reported 31 injured people, including three with heavy injuries in an intensive care unit, while another 12 persons have been sent to the emergency room. In all, 19 people have been taken to the hospital, they are receiving the necessary assistance," Vorobyov said on Telegram.
All buildings and workshops of the Zagorsk Optical-Mechanical Plant and a local kindergarten have been evacuated, he said. Windows are smashed in residential buildings on Osipenko and Karl Liebknecht Streets.
"We will definitely take care of everyone whose apartments were hit by the explosion. The Luch sport center has sustained partial damage - windows are smashed, and the swimming pool facade and the boiler house's brickwork are damaged," Vorobyov said.
