MOSCOW. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Poland has started major procurements of weapons from the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Korea, which poses risks to Russia, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Wednesday.
"Warsaw has announced its intention to build, as the Poles have proclaimed, 'the strongest army on the continent'," Shoigu said at a ministry board meeting on Wednesday.
By pursuing these plans, Poland has started massive procurements of weapons, including tanks, artillery systems, air and missile defense systems, and combat aircraft, from the U.S., the UK, and the Republic of Korea, he said.
"The existing risks are associated with the militarization of Poland, which has become the main anti-Russian policy tool for the United States," he said.
