SERGIYEV POSAD. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Emergency services are continuing efforts to clean up rubble after an explosion hit the Moscow region's Sergiyev Posad, where eight people were reported missing on Wednesday, head of the municipality Dmitry Akulov said.
"I continue to keep you updated on the situation with the post-accident cleanup on the premises of the Zagorsk Optical-Mechanical Plant. At this point, 60 people have been reported injured and eight are unaccounted for. Removal of the debris is underway, [and] no dead bodies have been found," Akulov wrote on Telegram.
Damage has been done to urban infrastructure facilities and has been recorded at the boiler house. Windows and building exteriors have also been damaged in the city. The administration has received 235 appeals for help from residents, he said.
