MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - A new batch of aerosol munitions has been produced for the Russian military, Kalashnikov Group said.
"The Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (TSNIITOCHMASH, Kalashnikov Group) has produced a new batch of aerosol munitions for optical and electronic countermeasures," the group said in a statement on Thursday.
"The munitions make up a part of systems used for protecting automobiles and armored vehicles from high-precision weapons, and are designed to create a camouflage aerosol screen in visible and infrared wave lengths," Kalashnikov Group said.
"The time needed to create an aerosol screen at a range of 10 to 80 meters is under two seconds. The temperature range is from minus 40 degrees Celsius to plus 50 degrees Celsius," it said.
Single or multi-launch systems, also engineered by TSNIITOCHMASH, are used to fire aerosol munitions, it said.
The model range of the new aerosol munitions and launch systems will be presented at the upcoming Army 2023 military-technical forum, Kalashnikov Group said.
