Luna 25 mission to land on lunar surface on August 21 - Roscosmos head

TSIOLKOVSKY (Amur region). Aug 11 (Interfax) - The Luna 25 lander is due to touch down on the lunar surface on August 21, Roscosmos CEO Yury Borisov said.

"We will now wait for the 21st [of August]. And I hope that there will be a highly precise soft landing on the Moon," Borisov told workers at the Vostochny Cosmodrome following the launch of the Luna 25 mission.

Luna 25 is part of Russia's lunar program. NPO Lavochkin has been working on the first lunar mission, which is aimed at exploring and using the Moon and the space around it by automatic interplanetary lenders.
