TSIOLKOVSKY (Amur region). Aug 11 (Interfax) - The Luna 26 moon-landing spacecraft is expected to be launched in 2027, the Luna 27 in 2028, and the Luna 28 by 2030 or later, Roscosmos CEO Yury Borisov said.
"We hope that we will launch the Luna 26 in 2027 and the Luna 27 in 2028," Borisov told reporters on Friday, adding that the launch of the Luna 28 lunar lander is scheduled to take place by 2030 or later.
"It is a set of automated lunar exploration missions, and after that we together with colleagues from China will shift to the next stage - a possible manned mission to the Moon and the construction of a lunar base," he said.
In late 2022, it was reported that Russia and China had signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation to build an international research station on the Moon.
