YEREVAN. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has called on Azerbaijan not to miss the historic opportunity to establish peace between the two countries.
The humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is deteriorating, Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Friday, accusing Baku of "carrying out genocide" in Nagorno-Karabakh and of banning the delivery of humanitarian supplies via the International Committee of the Red Cross.
"The best solution to the current situation will be steps by Azerbaijan to unblock the Lachin corridor [which connects Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia] and start Baku-Stepanakert dialogue within an international mechanism," he said.
Pashinyan also reaffirmed Yerevan's commitment to the peace agenda.
"I call on Baku to refrain from steps aimed at nullifying the historic opportunity to establish peace," he said.
