MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Vietnam has granted Russia's extradition request for a Russian citizen charged with drug dealing, Russian Interior Ministry spokesperson Irina Volk said.
"Colleagues from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam handed over Daniil Kolodnitsky to officers of the Russian Interior Ministry's Interpol National Central Bureau and the Federal Penitentiary Service at the Hanoi Airport today. The Russian citizen is charged with conspiring to deal substantial quantities of drugs," Volk said.
According to investigators, the defendant was a member of an anonymous network dealing drugs and psychotropic substances in Moscow in September-November 2018.
"The illegal goods were sold via an online store on the Hydra platform. The network members are indicted on six counts of drug dealing via caches," the Interior Ministry said.
Kolodnitsky went into hiding abroad and was put on the international wanted list in July 2020. He was tracked down in Vietnam in 2021.
"As the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office was granted, law enforcement agencies of both countries organized the extradition of the wanted fugitive," Volk said.
