Aircraft, air defense systems account for 75% of all Russian defense exports - Rosoboronexport CEO

KUBINKA, Moscow region. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Military aircraft and air defense systems currently make up about three quarters of all Russian defense exports, Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheyev said.

"Rosoboronexport's contract portfolio currently amounts to about $50 billion, with air forces and defense products accounting for 75% of it," Mikheyev said in a report to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at the Army 2023 forum.

By 2030, 90% of all weapons manufactured in Russia will be new types, Mikheyev said.

"Among the growth leaders in the short and medium term, we see the Sukhoi Su-57E fifth generation fighter aircraft, the Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A(E) military transport plane, the Kamov Ka-51E reconnaissance and attack helicopter, the Vityaz air defense missile system, the Pantsir-S1M missile and artillery anti-aircraft system, the Project 22356 frigate, the TOS-2 [thermobaric rocket launcher], and others," he said.
