PATRIOT PARK, Moscow region. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Defense Minister Col Gen Alexander Fomin has discussed military-technical cooperation with Myanmar's Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Admiral Tin Aung San on the sidelines of the Army 2023 forum.
"We consider our meeting as an excellent opportunity to share views on the prospects of further bilateral cooperation, primarily in the military and military-technical spheres. We are always open to a substantive and open dialogue on a variety of matters," Fomin said.
He congratulated the admiral on his appointment as deputy prime minister and defense minister and thanked him for his personal attendance of the Army 2023 International Military Technical Forum and the 11th Moscow Conference on International Security.
"The results of our decades-long cooperation and the outcomes of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in September last year enable us to further successfully develop the whole range of bilateral ties for the good of our countries' people and armies," Fomin said.
The two sides discussed progress in implementing numerous bilateral military and military-technical projects in detail and outlined further steps to bolster the traditionally friendly Russian-Myanmar relations.
