Russia ready for more cooperation with Iran on counterterrorism - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Russia has reaffirmed its readiness to increase its anti-terrorist cooperation with Iran after yesterday's attack on the Shahcheragh Shrine in Shiraz, Fars province, which left one person dead and nine injured

"We confirm our readiness to further increase our anti-terror cooperation with Iranian partners," the ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press release on Monday.

"According to available data, there were no Russians among the injured," she said.

"The Russian side strongly condemns the barbaric terrorist attack and expresses its deep sympathy with the families whose relatives and loved ones were struck by this misfortune. We hope those responsible for this crime will be punished deservedly," she said.
